摘要(Abstract):
In this seminar, we mainly study the Category Theory, which contains functors, natural transformations, the Yoneda lemma, (co)limits and adjoint functors. The aim of this seminar is to introduce the language, philosophy, and basic theorems of Category Theory. The study of category is to try to grasp the common characteristics in various related "mathematical structures" by means of "axiomatic" method, and to correlate these structures by means of "structure preserving function" between structures. Therefore, we can get better to learn other knowledge related to algebras through this systematic study of category theory.

报告人简介：Ralf Meyer，德国哥廷根大学数学系教授，原系主任，1999 年在明斯特大学 （Westfälische Wilhelms-Universität Münster）获得博士学位，导师是著名算子代数和非交换几何专家 Joachim Cuntz 教授（1990 年在国际数学家大会（ICM）上做 45 分钟报告，2012 年当选美国数学会首届会士），主要从事非交换几何与算子代数 的研究。在 Duke Math. J., Trans. Amer. Math. Soc., J. Eur. Math. Soc., Math. Ann., J. Reine Angew. Math., Adv. Math., Proc. Lond. Math. Soc., Comm. Math. Phys., J. Noncommut. Geom., J. Funct. Anal.等杂志上发表论文 90 余篇，被引用900 余次。
